Do you enjoy writing? Then this is the place for you.

We have just resurrected our Dunmow u3a Creative Writing Group after a break of a couple of years and are delighted to have formed a friendly and lively group of “eager beaver” writers and would-be writers.  

Our mission is to get together an eclectic group of like-minded people, amongst whom may be beginners to published authors – but all of whom share a love of writing and the written word – be it an article, a short story, a poem or the start of that novel you always knew you had it in you to write!

Our focus is to encourage our mutual interest in, and love of, writing: of creating stories, be they from your imagination, to recording events that have happened in your world; and to offer tips and ideas that may help to improve everyone’s writing skills.  We aim to go on a couple of outings during the year and then write about our experience – and, of course, Christmas Lunch is always “on the menu”!

We meet on the first Wednesday of each month, at the Angel & Harp in Great Dunmow, from 3 pm to 5 pm.  The meetings are arranged by Fiona Fraser-Thomson, a published author and award-winning poet, with a long career in writing, so help, advice and encouragement are always on hand
